Research Activities:

Main Activity in Computational Mechanics : nonlinear transient dynamics, fragmentation, ruptures, Smooth Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH), the influence of material damage on structure damage resistance and damage tolerance

Aims : develop methods methodologies and home tools, contribute to the enhancement of commercial codes (LS-Dyna, Impetus Afea), enhance the predictability of numerical simulations

Main Applications : Hyper Velocity Impact (HVI) of space debris, phase change and state change in materials due to high strain rates, ruptures and fracture modelling, rapid machining, and tool/workpiece interaction, process simulation, fluid/structure coupling on light structures during rapid loadings, impacts, crash/crush, the effect of material damage on structure behavior
