Axis Machining of multi-material stacks

The UMM (Multi-Material Machining) axis is a transverse axis in the laboratory. It aims to unite the researchers of the ICA (SUMO, MSC, MS2M and MICS groups) who work on machining problems and to create a space for exchange and internal collaboration. The flagship example of these activities is Multi-Material Drilling (metal, composites, wood, plastics, etc.). Thus, the activities carried out under this theme are concerned with the characterisation of the phenomena involved in the machining of materials and multi-material stacking, and their modelling. The objective is to establish the relationships between operating parameters, process indicators (mechanical actions, temperatures, vibrations) and compliance with quality criteria, in terms of geometry but also in terms of integrity of “surface” and health matter.
